At the heart of production

Martin first joined Denford in 1984 as an apprentice electrician. Over the decades, he progressed through the ranks - qualifying as an electrician in 1987, moving into a service engineer role in 1994, and finally stepping into his current position as Production Manager five years ago.

Today, no two days look the same. Whether it’s inspecting and powering up machines, assembling orders, updating schedules, or leading production meetings, Martin is central to keeping things moving. He manages the workflow, coordinates with the Board, and ensures Denford’s machines are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

“I enjoy my work each day and take pride in the results when products are dispatched to the highest standards.”

A career of change and milestones

Martin has witnessed first-hand the evolution of Denford’s product line, from manual machines to fully CNC-controlled systems integrated with the company’s own software.

One of his proudest moments? Reaching his 40th anniversary at Denford - an achievement that’s becoming increasingly rare in any workplace and one he holds in high regard.

“I’ve spent my whole working life developing my skills within Denford, and last year marked my 40th anniversary. That’s something I’ll always be proud of.”

The Denford difference

What sets Denford apart for Martin is its close-knit, family-run culture. He speaks highly of the team he leads - committed, skilled, and always striving to deliver quality.

“Denford is very much a family business which fosters a close team culture. I have a great team who work together to achieve the desired goals.”

Beyond the workshop

Away from the production floor, Martin is just as hands-on. He enjoys cooking for his extended family and friends, stays active with daily exercise, and takes regular holidays to unwind. His perfect weekend? Relaxing in Portugal.

And if he wasn’t at Denford? “Retired - and looking after bees!”
