Celebrating National Engineering Day
Inspiring the next generation of innovators

Engineering at the Heart of Innovation
National Engineering Day is a chance to recognise the incredible impact engineers have on shaping the world around us - from the infrastructure we rely on every day, to the technologies transforming how we live, work, and learn.
At Denford, we’re proud to play a part in nurturing the next generation of engineers, designers, and innovators through hands-on STEM learning. By helping young people bring their ideas to life with real-world design and manufacturing experiences, we’re supporting the skills and confidence they need to take their first steps into the world of engineering.
A World of Opportunity
Engineering is at the heart of solving the world’s biggest challenges. The sector offers an incredible range of careers, spanning design, automation, robotics, materials science, and beyond. And with demand for skilled engineers continuing to grow, the opportunities have never been greater.
Through STEM education, students don’t just learn technical skills - they develop creativity, problem-solving ability and teamwork. By investing in high-quality learning experiences and technologies, schools and colleges can help students discover their potential and see engineering as a pathway to a rewarding and future-proof career.
As part of this commitment, Denford is currently hosting two T Level Engineering students from Calderdale College, providing valuable industry experience and helping them apply their classroom learning to a live environment. It’s another way we’re helping bridge the gap between education and employment - and inspiring young people to pursue their ambitions in engineering.

STEM Racing: Bringing Engineering to Life
Initiatives such as STEM Racing supported by Formula 1 perfectly demonstrate the power of this approach. By challenging students to design, make, and race miniature F1-style cars, the programme brings engineering to life in an exciting and competitive environment. Many alumni have gone on to pursue careers in Formula 1 mechanical design, motorsport, and advanced manufacturing - real proof of how STEM engagement can open doors and inspire lifelong passion for innovation.
“Engineering offers limitless possibilities - it’s about curiosity, creativity, and the drive to make things better. At Denford, we believe in giving students the inspiration and tools they need to see where engineering can take them.” Andrew Denford, CEO, Denford Ltd. and Founder of STEM Racing
