Testing tech with a Champion
Welcoming Laurence back to HQ
Jonathan Cliff

We were delighted to welcome Laurence Vines back to Denford HQ recently.
Laurence, a STEM Racing, first made his mark placing on the podium at the UK Nationals.
Since then, he’s gone on to complete a Mechanical Engineering degree, which helped him secure a Graduate Stress Engineer role at Williams Racing – a perfect example of how the STEM Racing programme inspires the next generation of engineers.
During his visit, Laurence supported our team in testing exciting new race equipment that will be unveiled at the World Finals in Singapore next month.
Laurence is no stranger to STEM Racing, having first competed in the F1 in Schools competition in 2017, with Centurion Racing.
- In 2018 the team produced the fastest car in the UK.
- In 2019, Centurion Racing qualified for the World Finals, finishing in 3rd place overall but winning the Verbal Presentation, R&D and Sponsorship & Marketing Award categories.
Since then, Laurence has worked closely with the STEM Racing team and held many support roles at World, National and Regional final events, such as judge, mentor, race official and pundit.
Andrew Denford, CEO of Denford and Chairman of STEM Racing Comments: “It’s always inspiring to see how the skills and experience gained through STEM Racing can open doors to incredible opportunities. Laurence is a great example of this and we are delighted that he continues to support us as part of our extended team.”
